You can’t debate veganism.
You can only argue in favour of unnecessary harm to other animals.

A thought I heard:
You can kill or steal to live.
Then, we should not eat plant material we need to "kill", but only their fruits or seeds.
From animals, we could eat milk or eggs (stolen). Maybe even blood without killing, like some African cultures do.
Interesting thought, I felt.
Some people are lovely & I treat them well - unless they are human parasites.
Anyway, that's why I am a vegetarian & not a vegan. Most vegans are somewhat hypocritical, because it's foolish to hold fast to rigid rules in life.
1) when my kids & I picked up lice, once, I didn't hesitate to kill them, brutally.
2) Even most Hindu vegetarians, living around Indian coasts, eat lots of fish & probably couldn't survive without.
3) Most Buddhists eat meat!
None of us is perfect, which was my point. Flexibility is key. I don't kill animals for food, sport or any other reason than defence, because I love them all.
However, many things are "not an issue", as you put it. It's up to us to draw our own red lines.
Justice isn’t about what you can live with — it’s about the victims.
My parent's generation had to do that to some dangerous people, called Fascists, too.
It's sometimes a fact of life (see my pinned post).
"...the global egg industry destroys about 7 billion newborn male chicks every year, 300 million of which are killed in the US alone."
Some think eggs & dairy aren't veggie but, even for Hindus, those are acceptable in most cultures. In fact, dairy means survival for most Hindu Indians.
