"How can the central precept of our country, founded on on principles that are reflected in the good book, how can we say we should cut healthcare from the sick and the needy to give bigger tax cuts to Elon musk?"
Cory Booker.
Speaking from the Senate floor, 04\01\2025
🚨🚨 CALL TO ACTION: Send messages of support to Senator Cory Booker! Send the message to a Democratic Senator. Let's overwhelm Cory Booker with gratitude for what he's doing. Let's show other senators what happens when they stand up & fight! Let's encourage them to follow Sen Booker's example!! 🚨🚨
As others have said, he didn't. This has been a total group effort. https://www.dailypress.senate.gov/ shows the Senators who have also spoken, and his staff and cousin have been present, too. Dem. Reps have also joined the gallery. If you are looking for a unified fight, this is it.
True.
He IS the only one standing & not yielding the floor.
Why can’t all Dems take a rotation of turns of 2 hours each to keep the filibuster for 24-48 hours?
He is having great conversations & the senators are making great points as they ask questions.
But 1 shouldn’t need to stand alone 24 hrs
“You gotta unclench your ass cheeks, unpucker your asshole, relax your jaw, and shake it off. All that adrenaline locking up your frame, threatening to warp the chassis, you better let it out. Release steam.”
he’s not…there are many, many of his senate colleagues there with him by taking the floor asking questions or talking themselves while he takes a bit of a voice break….he’s not alone.
He's had plenty of Democrat colleagues come to his aid with lengthy questions that boil down to, "what CAN we do?" And that has revealed that not a single one of them have an answer.
Though his physical feat of strength is valiant, and his speech is often emotionally compelling - it's empty words.
Bernie and AOC are on the road giving the town halls that the people deserve. I know Warnock was up there. However I believe that this should’ve been coordinated. They all come and take turns speaking an hr or two each rotating. Non stop. Reading our stories. Being our voice.
Senator Cory Booker just made history with the longest filibuster ever—bold, principled, and full of patriotic audacity. This is what standing up for democracy looks like. We see you, Senator. And we’re with you. 🌓✨

He's shown them the way. This is getting so much attention, the rest of the Dem Senate's lizard brains are scheming how to get even a portion of this attention.
Unasked-for advice: Instead of castigating and cynically criticizing Dems just because, re-phrase this as a positive, i.e.: I'm looking forward to seeing all of our Dem Senators take this same action. It's time!
Murphy has been there the entire time. Many have been asking very long questions to give him a break and support. He has to hold the floor alone though, it’s the nature of the filibuster I believe.
Now explain why laws should be passed by somebody raised in the 1950s. You know, when segregation was legal and there were no environmental laws or building codes.
No arguments from me there. Imagine if these lawmakers forced to retire became the advisors to a younger generation of lawmakers instead of clinging to power forever and keeping us stuck in the past.
Others like Andy Kim, Rev Warnick, Kirsten Gillibrand, Chris Murphy, Amy Klobichar, and Sen Smith have taken the mike with questions, providing a break.
Been listening for hours.
This was well thought out and elegantly coordinated.

With peoples feet on the ground everywhere on April 5th, will send a strong & powerful message to both the current fascist administration & anyone who is realizing what a shitshow this Government is!
Senators Kim, Murphy, Welch and few others have been supporting him throughout the night. 8:19am and they are still on Senate Floor @booker.senate.gov so jersey proud
I’ve never been prouder of my #NJ Sen. Booker than now, and I’m always proud of him. So inspiring. All Dem Congress must take their cue from this & fight like hell from now on. Call this awful situation out for what it is. Hopefully bring some Repubulicans in Congress to their senses.
I called my Senator today and suggested she support him, join him, take a shift. Let’s go!
And to all who say it’s an exercise in futility I invite you to remember the Tea Party. They were teeny tiny but oh so loud and played a big role in dragging us to where we are today. Never ever give up!
He's not. Other Senators have stepped up to help & give him a brief break. That's how this works. But I get your point. Every Democratic Senator should follow him immediately with more of the same.
Between weekends and recess, they’d only have to do it every other month or so.
It will be taxing, but not voting for cloture would have made this less necessary. Fuck Chuck.
He is leading the American people by example...he is standing with truth, integrity and courage...the American people are being told it is up to us to step up and save our country (like troops into battle)...we needed to be able to look to a General who was worth fighting for!
Every senator who is asking him questions are doing it in order to give him a break. He’s getting a lot of the only kind of help he’s allowed to get according to the rules.
He isn't. Look at the support he has from his fellow Senators asking questions. I have seen Chris Murphy, Tina Smith, and Pete Welsh on the floor asking questions, long questions
He isn't doing it alone. His fellow senators are right there with him.
This is the "talking filibuster" President Biden spoke and which so many liberals came for Joe about.

He needs to go.
This was well coordinated and planned.
Happy to see these Democrats stand for all of us.
We are seeing who the warriors of the Democrats are, and I am loving it!
This whole effort is so well done. I gives me hope.
Each person is #StrongerTogether en masse!
Where can you focus attention?
Democracy dies in the darkness, hushed, and scared.
Stand up.
Use your voice.
Empower others.
Organize.

They should all take this and ask WHY they have given up their power to another branch
1. He’s not doing it alone. Filibusters are team sports and the questioners are there to help him rest his voice.
2. Switching to a new speaker entirely is tricky, procedurally. They’re working on it.
And to all who say it’s an exercise in futility I invite you to remember the Tea Party. They were teeny tiny but oh so loud and played a big role in dragging us to where we are today. Never ever give up!

he's the minority leader of the house but never sought out for comments
but they swarm to MTG like flies on crap
