Republicans see money laundering as a benefit (they're defunding the IRS after all).

Perfect for the Drumpf regime. They can then start a useless but heavily militarised police funded „war on smuggling“, and use it to further punish and infringe the rights of (largely poorer and vulnerable) Americans impoverished by their suicidal tariff policies.
