Let me introduce the top of her class, Good Girl Champion (who doesn't do any of her 'training' when she isn't in front of what she deems a worthy audience, and, right before this photo, pushed me into the river on her way to fetch a stick)

A thing I learned about Welsh Sheepdogs, after I brought one home, is that they were bred to work independently (like go get herds on their own from great distances without supervision) so there is a lot *negotiation* in our relationship. And sometimes bullying (by her).
she is afraid of livestock (she was fired from a farm, which is why I have her) but she's not afraid to assert her opinions & explain why mine are wrong.
I had a jindo as my last dog, and it was a similar dynamic (minus the bullying 🤣) Eventually I learned her instincts were better than mine, and just followed her lead 😂
She got us un-lost from hikes more than once. She was a good dog 🤎
