Catching up, but seeing this, it made sense. The one person that Heyman asked Roman and the #Bloodline to not touch, this might be an uneasy alliance, but a necessary one.
This cooks on so many levels.
🔸Punk is an original Paul Heyman guy. Wiseman called in a favor. Also, adds layer of jealousy; who is more of a “Heyman Guy”?
🔸Reignites Punk feud with Seth, who resents him even more for teaming up
This is good. They put Reed in the New BL, so now with Punk on the OG team there's the Rollins factor with Punk and Reed so he could cost them or help them based on that. Now Punk can be in a feud that isn't about a kid's trinket.
This makes the most sense in long-term storytelling. Gives Rollins a crazy ultimatum: attack the guy he hates and help Roman or attack the guy he hates and help Bronson/Solo. What he chooses basically dictates his Mania trajectory.
Exactly. The Wise Man called in a “Paul Heyman Guy”, and Roman and Punk have a common enemy in Seth Rollins.
My biggest fear was that Heyman was gonna bring in Brock Lesnar, and any investment I had in this story would have been gone. I’ve hated Lesnar since he walked out in 2004.
Tbh, Punk was the last person I would have expected. I was expecting Hikuleo or Zilla Fatu, but adding Punk puts two of WWE biggest draws in the main event, and that is “best for business”.
It makes sense because he's a Paul Heyman guy, and the New Bloodline attacked Heyman, taking him out. So Punk has a reason to be mad at Solo and company.
