Did I see one of the Vindman brothers while watching CSPAN coverage of Jimmy Carter's Funeral. There was a man with a Yarmulke by the aisle who maybe was a Vindman.
I watched his funeral and cried through the entire thing. He was the first president I voted for (his second run for the presidency). He was a great man and I followed and supported his career post-presidency.
Likewise. I enlisted on 1/20/77. Same day as President Carter was inaugurated. I was too young to vote in ‘76 (turned 18 a few weeks later), but I voted for him in ‘80.
I wept. The character President Carter embodied throughout his entire life is aspirational! I will miss the pure goodness he brought to politics. Truly a man FOR the people.
We can be damn sure it won’t happen during the next presidency!
