Because my score of 10 points is distributed across 5 categories. There's no question that I am disabled and in need of some support while I try to deal with the new reality I am in, but the new system will disqualify me for being the wrong sort of disabled.

Sadly they seem dead-set on it as a strategy and to hell with the consequences. Incredibly depressing to see Labour jumping on the anti-welfare bandwagon with the Tories and Reform.

They can blame the Tories if they like, but the fact they refused to even consider a wealth tax rather than attacking disability benefits shows they are not a left wing party no matter what they claim.

No they didn't. They didn't bring in any tax on wealth. They might have partially closed some loopholes on our existing wealth tax, IHT, but this was a small step that realistically hits entirely the wrong segment of society because it was very poorly implemented.

The article I shared from a wealth tax charity literally said they approve of the increase ways labour taxed wealth lol but okay. Problem with a stand alone wealth tax is it doesn't raise that much money because of so many loopholes. It hasn't worked in multiple progressive countries.

Otherwise the changes are tweaks to how we tax income and consumption, not wealth. A tax that affects the wealthy is not a wealth tax, though I have seen the contrary claimed by plenty of Labour supporters that don't understand why this is a crucial difference.

Of course, it's not just me they're causing problems for. A progressive party should be all about electoral reform to give people more power and force the political system to move to a more cooperative one and less of an adversarial bun fight, but they're not interested in that either.
