I remember discussing him in college in Gay and Lesbian Studies. This was the early 90s, just as Gay studies was finally a program on campuses, but Trans* was yet to be classified separately from gay. I was so uncomfortable that we kept using "She" to discuss him. Same with Dr. Barry 😞
