2 things I'm surprised you didn't bring up: The knockback Nathan gets when hit, and the fact not only are potions so rare, but also heal you VERY little. Like 30 out of your 500 HP or something.

I played Aria of Sorrow before Circle of the Moon and I ended up dropping CotM. I remember getting so bored by the game (and frustrated by the running controls) that I dropped it.
