On average pretty good.
Some days it's easier to be awesome than others.
I've mostly been painting Quar from Zombiesmith this past year.
Quar are intelligent bellicose anteaters with roughly WW1 technology.

Literally get painting, you won't enjoy it if you don't do it! Start simple, follow a youtube tutorial and paint along with it, single minis at first, GW make some great simple starter paint sets with minis for both AoS and 40k which are a perfect starting point

Literally, it sounds ridiculous but it's the best advice! Don't beat yourself up either because you're gonna make mistakes and you'll improve along the way. The minis you paint now won't look as good as ones you paint 5 years from now, but if you don't start, you'll never reach that point!

Raptors are an awesome chapter to choose! Space Marines are a great army to start with too. Look for any Raptors chapters tutorials and make a note of the paints they use so that you've got what you need because that will encourage you to start

Thank you! I used all army painter's paints, base coated with plate mail metal, recess shaded with blue tone ink, and then highlighted with shining silver!
