A lot of people have been saying this for a while.
When I searched "derivative AI" on this platform and chose "latest", the post I migrated from TwiX was at the bottom, but I highly doubt I was the first to post this idea to the web.

Some of the earliest uses seem to be referring to this idea that many AI outputs are mostly derivative rather than mostly generative.
So our takes seem very, very cold.
