They must be accepted w/ respect, compassion & sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives & if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Cross the difficulties they encounter.

At a certain point in time, Catholic priests actually blessed the equivalent of same-sex unions. Not marriage exactly, but they did bless Gay couples.

At one point in time, the Catholic Church allowed women to become priests in a war torn area, because there were not enough men to carry it on. When the war was over, the women were stripped of the sacrament.

If you’ve met one Catholic, you’ve met just one. They all interpret so differently.

That’s from the current Catholic catechism. It was gentler when I looked at it the first time, 30 years ago.

That’s not the same as what’s taught in CCD; it’s one book of dogma and rules.
