I explained taxes to my daughter this way: she has box of chocolates and has to give some to me. I know how many she has to give me, but she has to guess, and if she guesses wrong she goes to jail.

the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). I feel like I am under a never ending deferred adjudication agreement.
Yep - tell em the US military is sucking us all dry - Grandma and Grandpa too - cut Medicare and social security asap. Save your $$ and pay for your own expenses!
There are a few countries in the world where you just get a statement via email from the government...Net tax to be paid for the year and how much you have already paid via deductions. The difference is your refund or the amount to be paid.
If you agree, sign it and its done!!!
Most developed countries works like this. Login to your tax authority site where they have prefilled most rubrics with their information. Your responsibilities, check and verify, or change any rubric with your:
- Total income
- Total deduction
- Total tax paid
- Total Credit/Debit.
