We also find disparity maps and tuning get better from V1 to LM (mouse V2?) in non-deprived mice and worse in MD mice. Trial-to-trial variability is also worse in MD mice. We think these additional characteristics could be related to a failure to develop relative disparity selectivity.
We find that long-term MD followed by 6+ weeks of normal vision doesn't cause an obvious change to disparity tuning. This rather degrades how disparity strength and preference are retinotopically mapped. We then show how this disorganization affects their binocular depth perception.
