I have a project that is quite unique. At times, I explore underground human-made tunnels beneath cities in an effort to discover new species in these environments. I hope to share some results soon from our findings in the Roman-era underground aqueducts in Carmona (Andalusia).

In this paper, we describe a new species found in an ancient underground aqueduct built during the Roman period in Carmona (Seville, Spain). To date, the species has been located in a single population inhabiting rotten wood in one of the galleries.
