Another example. Weho has plenty of problems to solve- especially the cost of doing business and in the commercial real estate space but it is certainly demonstrating better housing policy

One other point while I’m on this soap box,
Each of the five members of the West Hollywood City Council represents about 20k residents while each of the 14 members of LA city council represents 250k residents. LA needs reform. Weho shows what could be.
yeah it needs to expand. the actual districts are insane when you look at a map. i get nervous about expanding it too much though, you add too many districts and the position loses power to the point where no one cares anymore
Idk if this is true but I would imagine the counter argument would be that if something impacts more neighborhoods you empower consensus and mitigation oppositional power generally
i say this from the perspective of chicago, where there are 50 city council members (aldermen) and they have less power and at one point were VERY easy for real estate developers to bribe
