The thing about going to war with this crew is they are universally inveterate liars. They will lie about the losses, the successes, and the costs. Believe nothing they tell you.

BDA (battle damage assessment) is a precise technical process requiring an open mind, clear eyes, and no preconceptions. even then, as it passes up the chain of command, who’s to say how it gets “tweaked” or “massaged” to please one’s superiors?
