I grew up Seventh Day Adventist, many of whom are vegetarian, and most who follow kosher rules. They interpret this dream as symbolic. It represented that the gospel was to be shared with gentiles as the Jews.

Yes. Luke 24.41-43. In John 21.3-15, Jesus appears to catch, kill, cook, and eat fish. Both the Luke and John accounts are post-resurrection, so different rules may apply.
