To be sure. I got about an hour in and had to have a break. When he cuts off the first finger that was a step too far for wilful suspension of disbelief. However I did like the donkey :)

I finished watching The Banshees of Inisherin last night. It escalates quickly there but I worked out what it was doing. It is a parable for our times & has multiple reference points. We generally think behaviour like that is appalling and ridiculous but we/our politicians are always doing similar.

It's a great movie. Celtic dark is deep dark.
