"if you can't handle criticism, you shouldn't create anything" is some of the worst, asinine take you can give to a creator IMO. Especially when said "criticism" is just a hate mob of people hating on every single thing you do.

This isn't at any specific drama going on mind you (since that line gets used in any form of discourse: youtube creators, animation tube, writers, etc.) and most often used by people who don't even write or create most of the time.
Its a shield used by shitty people to deflect blame back onto the creators they harass. It doesn't help writers/artists get better, nor does it psychologically train artists to ignore it (if anything it makes them more angry, bitter and resentful) and just turns new creators off from making anything
Like, telling people they shouldn't make anything if their terrified of twitter hate mobs does nothing but gatekeep. It doesn't help them make better art, it doesn't train them, it doesn't make them more skilled its just being needlessly gatekeepy while at the same point doing nothing to address---
---toxic online behavior, toxic critic/grifter culture, or deal with any of the reasons new creators and writers are terrified to put their work out there. Between that, AI, Griftertube, and the critics of yore, I know several artists and writers absolutely terrified of putting their work out there-

Basically what amounts too: "If you can't handle toxicity, you shouldn't do what you love"... which fucking sucks.
