It's never going to get a crew certification from a competent authority: that is literally the failure-mode of the Challenger disaster. In-space crewed is reasonable (Apollo didn't have a launch-abort on the moon, because where do you abort *to* ?)

They'll launch people on Dragon and transfer them

SpaceX just published a statement, saying that "intial data indicates a fire developed" near the tail end of Starship and destroyed the vehicle.

If this incident didn't happen, the next flight would have been an orbital flight. A RUD on the way up to, on the way down from, or during orbit, could have dire consequences. 1/

It seems like different systems and components were shutting down in sequence, relatively slowly. You don't see that often in spaceflight, at least not the launch phase. Wonder if it was a power issue.

I think this Ship had a large number of changes on it when compared to the previous Ship. I'm sure they will learn from this and improve for next time. Big question now is how long will the investigation take since the debris flew over populated areas.
