David Noll misses the obvious next step if the courts found and authorised honest cops to compel contempnors - the DOJ calling it an excess of court powers and sending Marshals to arrest the judge and cops involved.

The arbiters of the law are the ones with the power to enforce it.

The Constitution has always been a fatally flawed basis of government because it put the power to execute (i.e., enforce) the law into only 1 arm, thereby not making them co-equal.

Neither Congress nor the Judiciary can enforce the law. They rely on the Executive to do it. So the only laws that matter are the ones the Executive will enforce. It's breaking the law, but it won't enforce those laws on itself. The Executive can & will enforce the laws that benefit it.

One question. Who will enforce any order against Donald Trump and his gang of criminals? The Supreme Court just proved powerless. Even Congress impeaching and removing would not guarantee he leaves because who is going to enforce it? Mike Johnson? Chuck Schumer? Zero enforcement exists. Patel's FBI?
