I live in a district where the Republican incumbent was unopposed for state delegate two years ago. We have a candidate this year! And the incumbent sent his FIRST EVER letter to district residents in over three years in office, right after his opponent declared.

It is the right strategy. One important thing, you need money to challenge and win. That why eventually you only back winners or run rich candidates with their own money. Another way. A young person without money only has lots of energy can do damage. So millennials get involved.

I would also add this - if you're not happy about the SCOTUS ruling with regards to Tennessee... this is another good reason to run for public office, especially when voter turnout in Tennessee for the 2022 midterms was only about 38.6% (61.4% didn't bother to vote), and SB1 was passed in 2023.

In Iowa, 42% of voters chose Harris. Ohio: 48%. Missouri: 40%. Yet these states (and others) are written off by the DNC as "red" and given something close to no funding to develop and run Democrats across the state.
