This was one of the first things I treated myself to after getting away from the DWP. I still get a flash of panic when a brown council envelope comes through the post. Social Security Scotland have their flaws but I don't feel actively traumatised or terrified dealing with them.
There's a choice to give up working to get job seeker's allowance, but then you have to spend all your time looking for jobs that aren't there. I have written to MPs, MSPs and Secretary of State for DWP, but I don't think there are enough votes to be gained for their efforts
Yeah, he wasn't outwardly horrible to me at least but he did have a habit of forgetting that I'd asked to not have meetings scheduled when I was on shift at the charity shop I volunteered for at that time.
Yep. They decided to schedule a phone appointment for me with two days' notice when I'm going to be unavailable at the required time. I've just messaged them telling them to reschedule, because I'm not having their pish.
I haven't yet but I absolutely hate dealing with them. They scheduled a meeting with me for two days' time when I won't be available and I've just straight up told them to reschedule it because I'm not fucking having that.
When I took a friend who is on long term disability out for lunch, they insisted on ringing in the middle of the lunch for a 30 mins call and threatened to cut her benefit if she didn't play along
Yeah, the ones I've dealt with in the job centre are either utter jobsworths who would rather be cops but failed the entry requirements, or they're thicker than Boxing Day turds.
