I really like Gyökeres, think he’s ready to step up and would score goals for anyone in the Premier League (not just Arsenal). But I’d be simultaneously terrified of him flopping and I don’t know why.

My biggest fear is Arsenal's past focus on own value v actual cost, that has seen us lose targets to other clubs. Gyokeres is going to be mighty expensive - and either we need to accept the price or have a very strong second option that is ready
We should have sorted this 12 months ago. We’re going to have the same fear about whoever we end up bringing in because we so badly need that player to work.
I haven’t looked at stats for a while, but I seem to recall him doing well at Coventry? Something like 40 goals and 15 assists in two season before moving to Portugal.
I watch them regularly for Sweden (I live there). We need Gyok way more than Isak. Gyok outperforms Isak in the national team. Just a relentless fucker, that would put family members for sale for a goal.
I remember liking him in the Championship before he went to Sporting, so him excelling in Portugal should make me like him even more. But it doesn't! Felix and Nunez have turned me off that entire league, I'd be so nervous about this signing
Look I'm very pro Darwin Nunez existing, I'm just very scared of paying an awful lot of money for him. Could he persuaded if they throw in the Darwin Nunez song guy too
I think he's because he's a low-technique huge guy who takes a lot of shots, runs fast and kicks it hard. He really is Darwin. Maybe less insane and hopefully less stupid but the mould really lends itself to "oops he tried to control it and it hit a steward".

Very different to what we’ve got but he’s undoubtedly a very good player
I think it’s worth signing him based purely on the fact is he a. unbelievably direct, and b. Kicks the ball harder than anyone I’ve ever seen.
We lack both!
The league he's playing in means there's all sorts of risk attached, so what we pay needs to reflect that.
Absolute max we should go to is £60m. If Utd want to pay £70m or £80m - let them.
Open question: Would he start ahead of Havertz?
For me he has the juice, and brings some GJ-ish qualities with ball striking tekkers, but it’s always gonna be a dice roll
Look at Harry Kane or even Chris Wood.
We're not still at the early phase of buying young. 27 is perfect plug and play age for a team that really needs to win something.
If Gyokeres is 23 on this arc, it makes perfect sense. As is, it's a risk - but then all striker signings have risk.
We have new financial rules around the corner and hes (going to be) 27, it's just a risk. He could be amazing, but he could also be sat there at 30.
The counterpoint is that there are no safe bets in the striker market, wages won't be astronomical, hungry to prove himself etc etc.
Thought he looked dangerous against us - I liked his running power and desire to shoot.
Who knows?
That profile is missing from the squad for sure.
Our finishing is best described as "polite" right now.
