It didn’t go to plan, but we had a good outcome. I would say we are 90+% back. We still have bad days now and then a year and a half later.

Ooh complications are no good, but it's good to hear that it ultimately turned out well. I'm so happy to hear things are returning to normal. 90% back is so much better than it could be. For my surgery there is more of a risk after the procedure than during as far as I'm aware.

I'm lucky that they already have a treatment plan ready for me, so the risk of post surgery complications is less. I'm very thankful for the doctors who are in charge of my care. They seem particularly interested and careful, which gives me so much hope for a good outcome!

With Jim, the surgery was supposed to be 3-4 hours. Ended up being almost 8. What was supposed to be a day in ICU sedated, ended up being a week, with his systolic capped at 90-92 to start for the first few days. There ended up being complications due to unexpected brain stem involvement.

i've had this exact same surgery (severe sinus stenosis causing venous aneurysm) a few years ago and am doing way better now - you got this! it's way scarier in concept than in reality even though the initial few months of recovery sucked

Oh that's so good to hear! I have actually no idea what to expect for recovery. If you are interested I would really love to talk to you about your experience! I'm not that nervous because I had a feeling this was going to happen to me the entire time, but knowing what to expect would help a lot 💗

i had like a 14 day steroid treatment and 10ish days of hardcore painkillers and needed some help in that time because it was pretty much Chill Out doctors orders, then i had intermittent headaches / "stent pain" as it settled for almost the rest of the year. 2 years out and that's all gone p much!

basically expect a roughly 2-3 week long headache with lifting limitations when you're freshly operated on and some weird sharp pains as stuff fully heals, but also stay alert for anything weird and call your nurse whenever you're concerned (i was given a number for this and you should be to)

i have like a very occasional pang of pain where my stent is but it's really rare and i know it's good from my last angiogram - only year 1 had like, frequent pain. also my venous aneurysm was gone within like a month so that was a big relief lol
