I read some other things, too, some suspect it's a normalization of cold, sterile fascist "aesthetic". No character nor fun, everything boringly uniform. And w/ AI being used to make "art" that's to fascists' liking, free of anything "degenerate"... Yeeeeah, uh, seems to track IMO.

I also wouldn't be surprised if this is the intent behind a lot of live-action/photoreal remakes of animated works. There's a stark difference between the likes of Robert Altman's 'Popeye' and the '94 Flintstones movie, and today's cartoon-to-realistic remakes. It had character, now it's sterile.

They're also right on the money w/ this social media is all algorithmed/optimized/something crap, where it's just endless ads and consumerism, and it's why the internet circa 2005 feels cozier and slower and more charming now. It's why I've grown disillusioned w/ microblogging in general.

And when you mix a corporation and its products with that, oh-ho-ho, that's how you get "cultures" like "Disney adults". Products, influencers, consumerism amped to 11, "content" promoting products, etc. You see it w/ youtubers and streamers out the wazoo. Like who TF is Mr. Beast? He can't be real.
