It wasn't a drop off against Chelsea. Maybe it was today until Arsenal scored. After that we still created and the game was stretched for the last 10 minutes. Last week Chelsea were down to 10 and Newcastle defended the game away and doubled their lead at the end. Can't be full gas all game.
If we get Champions League, there's no doubt that Eddie Howe and his staff have over achieved big time. The 1st eleven normally perform but are not machines. The bench due to injury had 2 keepers for a while. Neave's been on the bench for a while. They deserve praise not whined at.
Disagree. We came out in the second half and immediately made it look like we were the side with 10 men, happy to sit in our own half. Nothing to do with squad depth at that stage of a game.
You say it wasn't as bad as Chelsea but against Chelsea we went from winning at half-time to thankfully still winning at full-time, whereas the drop-off today cost us a point. And it was within the first 15 mins of the second half when I don't think it can be claimed it's due to lack of sub options.
I think you need to credit Arsenal. Made some tactical tweaks at halftime which made life much more difficult for us. Scored when they were on top which we didn’t in the first half.

And it's now happened twice in the last two weeks. Much worse second half against Chelsea; much worse second half today.
They’re still a better team/squad than us. A single moment of real quality from a very expensive player the main difference today.
