I really like the article. From a top-down societal standpoint, disconnecting financial security from education would be a good start. (Some) Players already self select out of exploits by wanting to play the game as intended since the goal is fun. But financial incentives ruin this.

If students:
1. Didn't need to fork over thousands of dollars to get an education
2. Didn't need to worry about having post collegiate financial security
Fewer students would opt for the "easy" route. It wouldn't solve it, but it would remove the existential stress.

That being said ChatGPT has spawned a massive cheating epidemic in higher ed. Tests and assignments are actively being redesigned with it in mind. Same for open note tests which require physical hand written notes. No laptops or phones allowed either.

The same thing is happening for online courses. Whereas before many knew of the cheating but tolerated it.
