New York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil won American League Rookie of the Year in a tight race, just beating out Baltimore outfielder Colton Cowser. Yankees catcher Austin Wells finished third. It was mainly a two-man race. Gil got 15 first-place votes to Cowser's 13.
