I am reminded of a scenario for the TTRPG Call of Cthulhu. First you make make Perception check; if you succeed you notice the floor is tiled in octagons. Then you make a Mathematics check; if you succeed you realize that it is impossible to tile a plane in octagons. Then you make a Sanity check.
