I have no problem with people believing there is more than what we are and in something bigger than ourselves. However, the idea Bronze Age myths continues to influence and/or dictate policy almost 25 years into the 21st century is patently absurd.
Religion is the most compelling and addicting framework through which to view the world, because it provides absolution and comfort. People will indeed do mental gymnastics to maintain their religious security blanket.
You can believe in something like God without rejecting science. Belief in God solely requires no need to contradict anything that science has led us to believe.
Oh you thought that was an invitation to engage with me and waste my time with nonsensical comments to harass and give grief for male elitism sport and fun. FO Blocked
No you haven't found a woman to harrass with your BS. Im not your personal tutor to explain YOUR cognitive dissonance so that you can deny and lie to keep it. Hire a fkn shrink to work through it. You haven't found a woman to argue with and harrass. I block male a's holes on contact.
When I was a Christian, I had no problem separating my faith from my belief in science. I saw the bible as a book of stories to teach lessons on how to love and help others, not as a book of literal facts.
Fundamentalism in any religion is stiff and unable to learn or accept new or different ideas
I agree. And even still I can have faith in those stories being accurate without denying science. Science is simply a way for us to conclude what we perceive. Obviously you cannot perceive a miracle out of sight. That also means there is no empirical evidence, but that’s why faith is what it is.
Not quite. It should say children exposed to religion who drank the Kool-Aid are gullible, versus children exposed to religion who woke up and lived. My Mom was in a cult. I was exposed. I can smell a charlatan a mile away. Free thinker. Not gullible.
I was one of those kids who made up words to songs in church - because I really hated it. Have a believe in a dainty - just don't ram that down other people's throats with threats and lies.
I was on a panel at an expo about 6 years ago, talking about Brexit and business - etc. One of the panel members said "God will provide for us, if we believe" - I literally facepalmed. He said to me "you don't believe in god?" I said "I believe in reality mate" He was shocked! 😂
