The cost of social care would be so much greater if all of the unpaid carers stopped doing what they do. This is yet another scandal which penalises those who are the least able to defend themselves ☹️

Used to care for parents. Nightmare having to look after them whilst being on hold trying to talk with DWP to explain when they'd been admitted or discharged from the hospital. Money stopped if I didn't. Should've called myself Michelle Mone, unlimited cash in her case.

It's weird how it's not a sliding scale. I've been offered a job, I will lose my CA, but I'm not caring for my adult son any less.
In fact I may have to look at direct payments for when I'm not able to have my adult daughter chip in and care for him. False economy.
