That's absurd! What about the whole innocent until guilty thing? Of course, they are multiple versions out there, but in none does it offer plausible proof she didn't do anything wrong.
She's INNOCENT.
Just as I predicted. Not a wise move, but entirely inevitable. The suspension is temporary pending a hearing which will be historical and reverberate through the legal profession. This is uncharted waters.
That's not remotely clear, though. I would absolutely back her even if it was "wrong" under the law, but it's actually highly likely that she did nothing wrong.
ICE had "administrative" warrants true. It allows for "public" arrest, the judge did tell um to exit stage left tho lol. I agree it's all bullshit and I fully agree with what she did. And I feel Badger :) folks should be protesting the administrative suspension she got. I think she is an hero
Yes, but she had him exit *into the public hallway.* It wasn't some secret passage that took him out via the Batcave. He literally rode down the elevator with his lawyer *and an ICE agent.* There's no crime here.
Do you have a citation for this? I read that she had him exit through a non-public door used by jury members. The ICE agent saw him leave the building and gave chase. I would love to be wrong.
She would have been wrong to let a group of unidentified thugs with no valid warrant take him away.
She did nothing wrong. They set this up to make an example of her to try to prevent judges from standing up to trump
Dem State SC suspended her. Maybe to preempt GOP's accusations, shit show.
Impartiality. Appease WI voters. Mainly defuse situation. Now the Judge is free to defend herself in public? I hope.
This is not easy to dissect. We cannot have judges ignoring the law. Probably none of us know exactly what happened yet. Of course, only a fool isn’t suspicious of anything out of this admin, but I am not yet ready to root over this. It isn’t as bad as disappearing people.
ICE went into her courtroom & said gimme this guy. She said "show me a warrant" they said "Nah don't have one." They easily could have stood at the door outside her court or the courthouse & took him BUT they mean to show they can do WTF they want, legal or no. Authoritianism 101.
Yes exactly I read the article and they said just out of caution it’s so cases aren’t put in jeopardy so whatever lawyers will say to try to invalidate her rulings won’t be an issue.
The problem is only the people who were there know what happened. I for one do not trust this administration in telling the truth so I will wait u til she is convicted or acquitted to pass judgement. She has the right to due process and it will say a lot if this administration denies that.
That won’t stand because it’s all just more of Trump’s BS & Lies! Can’t wait for his idiot attorneys to try and prosecute the Judge! No chance in Hell!!
NO- she was not presented with a proper warrant but an internal document which meant nothing legally.
The facts will emerge.
This action is meant to stoke fear and that’s what governments do who want to control people and concentrate power.
I actually think this is a good call until the dust’s settled. Until the issue is resolved, keeping her on the bench would welcome unproven speculation about her impartiality.
Elections have consequences. Hopefully we can learn crom these awful trumpian acts to show up at the voting booths and demand with our vote decent representatives.
This is in line with ABA rules for a felony arrest. They're not strictly required to suspend her if they viewed the case against Judge Dugan as "filed only for political reasons," so I guess they couldn't come to a majority decision on that
Thank you. This is helpful. It’s just too damn bad that one judge is held to a higher standard than the President whose lackeys deny people due process, with his support.
(which is bullshit, but I guess I take some comfort in the judges wanting to follow procedures and hear merits of cases and stuff since that's been super bad for Trump)
"In the public interest", what a load of BS. If they really think this will "protect public confidence" they wouldn't have done this. It erodes confidence.
While the idea of arresting judges gives me chills, the idea of judges breaking the law does the same thing. There are plenty of other hills to die on with this administration.

I mean, it's like an administrative leave that someone goes on until their name is cleared, right? eh? non?
