Nashville is blue.

It's less about the city itself and more about the fact that Tennessee had the greatest absolute margin for Trump.

I live in the city itself, so it’s a lot about that to me.

Conservatives aren't marginal there, though

And the Democrats there govern like Mitt Romney.

TN have heavy voter suppression laws. Voter turnout is usually less than 40%

That's not enough to suggest the state doesn't genuinely prefer conservative government, though.

It’s because those places suck! They like the liberal oikumene but are emotionally at odds with it for Complexes reasons

Reminds me of a certain mutual acquaintance of ours

I still think his politics are 80% “I kind of want to piss my parents off”, many such cases

Unfortunate that the stuff that would piss his parents off is Putinism, but yeah agreed.

I do think he’d be a good manager judging from working with him a bit on a set weirdly enough
