Nearly every police department in the country has a policy that requires officers to provide name and badge number when requested by a member of the public.
So anyone, including those being arrested, citizen or not can get that info and publish it.

Are we looking at a gig-worker gestapo? I think we might be.
I'd like to imagine some investigative journalists somewhere are already on the case. If not, might be time for citizen journalists to take this up.
...And before anyone goes screaming at me in all-caps, my personal opinion is they shouldn't be doing this and we wouldn't have a problem.
