(I say it on the assumption of sincere Christian faith, which very well might not actually go around wearing a cross ornament. I've found that to be paradoxically counterproductive.)
Christopher Hitchens used to list a pantheon and then say, I just add one more god. There is evidence that Jehova began in a pantheon and was the most powerful, like Zeus, then later the other gods fell away. How do monotheistic philosophers miss the absolute power that comes to popish figures?
Do you think if Jesus lived during modern times and was executed via lethal injection, people would walk around wearing hypodermic needles around their necks?
