HA! I, too, have zero recollection of the story itself but I remember how it made me 'feel' at the time! Then came along 'The Story of Star Wars' record with actual dialogue from the film. A big deal pre-VHS opportunities!!!

It’s a long time since I read it (like over 30 years…. eurgh… ) but I remember there were a fair few differences to the story we ended up seeing in film. Like looking into an alternative SW universe.
