I think there are some hurts and trauma that only the love and acceptance of a child can heal in a parent.
At some point, we must be ministers of mercy and grace to their own brokenness and hurt.
We were sent to them as much as they were sent to us.

It was a Something in this area that opened me up to the realization of God as the "ultimate failed Parent" since every one of Their children has rejected Them (my tendency to judge myself as a parent based on such criteria)
I don’t see YHWH as a failed parent. I see them as loving us so much that they give us the freedom to walk away.
Are children responsible? No.
Are parents responsible for the emotional well-being of their adult children? No.
I think mercy and grace are not about responsibility but choice.
Only to say that parents carry their own trauma and hurt into parenting, and we should, when able, show them the same mercy we require.
