Nope. Don't change the subject. THIS thread is about the fake skull nebula photo you posted. This is the original photo, and it does not resemble the slight enhancements on the one you just posted. The delete key is your friend, Mr. fake Hubble page.

I was defending the image, not the post, because I know its source and I know it’s legit.
Meanwhile you were getting one nebula confused with another. 😉
None of these represent what the nebula actually looks like to the naked eye, as all are false color. All are just as correct and accurate.
Here's one released by the ESA... the only difference between this and Curt Morgan's version is what frequencies were used in the source image data, and what color mapping was used. Learn something about how such images are processed and get back to us.
And no, I never once defended as a "Hubble telescope photo"... in fact in my very first comment I pointed out it wasn't a Hubble photo.
The image in the post is of NGC 2237, most commonly known as the Rosette Nebula, but also known as the Skull Nebula.
The image in the post is of the Rosette Nebula, which is colloquially known as the Skull Nebula, for obvious reasons. Neither term is its official name. The same is true for the nebula you posted... NGC 246... also colloquially known as the Skull Nebula.
