Oh interesting. Not that I want to pander to the AI/LLM industry at all, but if we can convince companies that making their websites well structured and semantic will make their bots more effective and their customers happier...

I had this conversation with someone who is a die-hard AI enthusiast who feels that AI will do it all and that a11y is a thing of the past. I reminded him that in order for AI to learn from source material, that material needs to be accessible. The look on his face was great!

Ha yes! There just isn't enough properly accessible code there for it to train on.

I'm all for an AI that is trained only on well-structured code to help people code up decent websites.

Shame they've just thrown everything into these things.

A tactic of mine for many many years has been to explain to site owners that accessibility helps SEO enormously – which it does as there is huge overlap if done correctly. Solid semantic structure is a big part of this as well. 😃
