I have a vivid memory of driving home from a baseball game with my daughters. We were on I-10 as it approaches 95 and just over the highway the moon appears.
I don't remember the game, but I remember that moon. More importantly, my daughters remember it too.
It was glorious, though the number of times I managed to just see the bright lights in front of me before impact was alarmingly high for the average commute.
Here in the UK, we don't often get to see stars or moons at night since there's so many clouds, especially during the colder seasons, but when we do, it's so beautiful. I'd love to visit a place like Norway to see pretty sights in the sky at night.
It took a pair of 12 x 50s, but I spotted Mars as a pinprick of light just outside of the Moon’s disk as he reappeared from behind his celestial cousin earlier this evening. He is now naked-eye visible as a tiny reddish speck, escorting her through the night sky.
