The 10 richest people hold more wealth than the poorest 3 billion combined. Let that sink in: 3 billion people struggling while a handful hoard unimaginable fortunes. Inequality isn’t a flaw in the system; it is the system.

It just proves that when one person prospers a thousand have to be impoverished.

That is why I believe the best system is the socio demographic system as we have in Europe. We are struggling with many issues and not investing as we should but there are way less crazy rich as here in the USA
It certainly is now. The rich have been chipping away at anti-trust, taxes and subsidies favoring the rich, and now they're coming after the pittance that seniors and the disabled get.
smh.
Everyone has their own way of thinking, and if you don't reach that level of thinking, even if you have the wealth of 3 billion people, you won't become one of those 10 people
That's... that's not how it works. You can't just "think" your way out of poverty. People require supports to get the education & skills they need to be successful. The rich are born with a huge advantage over the rest of us even though they aren't any smarter or better than anyone else.
I don't think it was ever meant to be this way. We forgot our power, and it was taken from us from those who realised that and used that knowledge to manipulate us for their own gain. I am hoping that Pluto, having left Capricorn and recently entering Aquarius, will help to change this.
This is just the way it’s been for thousands of years. We could change it if enough of us wanted to. We could have a system that’s fair to everybody. But I guess too many people don’t want that.
Indeed, Scott, it is very tiring. It is like being a leaf swept away by a river. Until something drastic changes with that river, the leaf can't do much except go along for the ride. I remind myself daily that Earth is a school, not a playground. That helps me a little bit to keep pushing on.
I think humanity generally and Americans specifically are approaching an important tipping point both in tolerance and apathy. The winds of change are picking up from the storm on the horizon.
I departed from JFK on 21/01/96 and never looked back, like James Joyce. I have watched America miss the boat so many times. We miss the boat, slightly more reserved - usually not so recent in memory (well, Brexit). The lesson has come for America now, as it has been pushed aside too many times.

Maybe we'll stop when they start being taxed at the same rates they were before Nixon.
