I have tried to be diplomatic for a decade (all my life actually, so much longer than a decade), and the ignorant, and uninformed, just spew a steady stream of hatred. I am done. The anger I feel at this moment, is not abating. I’m done with the gaslighters, the conmen, the criminals, & the bigots.
Good. Harness your wrath and use it as a catalyst for something positive. Find trustworthy people in your local community and swap contact details. Volunteer. Protect the vulnerable. Install home security cameras. Make sure your ID documents are up to date.
The next couple years especially, are going to be exceptionally trying. Not only for those of us who KNEW what another Trump admin would bring, but also for those who foolishly fell for his lies and voted for him. I say this is going to be trying because there WILL be people realizing their error.
Tbc i'm not saying completely forgive anyone of their ill-informed wrongs. But when some of these folks DO wake up and see what they helped bring about, how it's destroying them as well, the last thing they'll need is to have people shaming, insulting and ostracizing them for it.
I know what you mean. That lady who went to jail for Jan 6, and says she regrets her actions and won’t accept his pardon, is someone I can forgive. She was duped, and likely surrounded by an entire community that fell for the conman’s lies. She actually feels bad for falling for it.
These people have basically been manipulated from an early age, by others taking advantage of their lack of quality education to follow a certain dogma. This effort has been going on a long time and many Americans have been sucked into it, largely by way being deprived of good education.
Yes and the subpar education has been a strategy of the Republican Party for decades. Keep them uninformed and uneducated. It reminds me of a story I heard about a lady who left the Mormon church, and said she was so relieved because she no longer had to hate her gay son or other LGBTQ ppl.
When some of these people start hurting, their usual peers might not be there for them anymore, especially if they start rejecting typical Republican values and rebelling against it. This is going to leave them essentially with nobody who has their back, and a life-changing decision to make.
Whatever, dude. During orange turd man 's #45 term, all my former white male friends called me Dummy because my political opinion disagreed with theirs and therefore I was dismissed as stupid.
I didn't allow that attitude for long
Fair point and well made. The ploy of bombarding the masses with lies and disinformation has accomplished its goal. I’m not going to seek them out or engage with trolls, but I will be open to civil conversation when someone is willing to see another point of view.
I labeled Trump stupid and he got us twice already in the last 12 years, it's not underestimating the power of stupid people in large numbers with large bank accounts and dictator friends along with corrupt judges and blatant white supremacy handicaps throughout the legal system for good measure
When we perceive someone as foolish, we also believe there’s no need to be cautious, lowering our guard. From every perspective, labeling others as stupid is unwise.
I completely disagree. I do not see foolish people as safe or not a threat. I see them as a huge threat as witnessed by their behavior. Democrats and decent people in the US have been too forgiving and patient with these FOOLISH people. They deserve what they get. Time to fight fire with fire.
To me the overall goal by those who sit in power seems to be self-destruction and rocketing us to Oblivion via refining all the resources, actively destroying the environment, not addressing climate change effectively, engaging in military conflicts, and manipulating the masses into agreeing.📜🪤🚀🏚️⚰️☠️
Do not label anyone at all. You can and sometimes should label their actions. There is a big difference between labeling a person vs labeling his actions.
Opinions of those who are blind will never matter. We leave them and they still chase. Point proven time and time again. Playing nice with those who want nothing more than to destroy everything about us. Play game but we ain’t hitting the ball. Being slow and playing by the rules will be the end
Sometimes, shaking someone out of their complacency is an act of kindness. And at times, allowing someone to indulge in their mistake out of compassion is, in fact, a form of cruelty.
I always wondered what one German could have done to stop the Holocaust. Now I wonder what one American can do. Nothing. That's my conclusion. Tell me something different Anonymous.
I believe there’s a distinction to be made. Foolish and stupid are pejoratives that do not apply to most people. What many people are is some combination of lacking in fundamental thinking ability, basic knowledge, literacy, and/or common decency.

Oh, and read Binding Chaos.

Rather it is right or wrong in someone else's mind. Each side is fighting for their good cause.
