Since when does trump give a shit about things like that? If they wanted Musk to stick around he would stick. I suspect Trump wants Musk gone because he thinks musk is making him look bad. Musk wants to go because his ego is taking a beating along with his wallet.
Either that, or Musk would have to end all his other ventures to avoid conflicts of interest. The legal risk of contravening that specific statute is far too high.
