Neither actually! Though I may get some wildlife, probabaly mostly dogs + birds, it's for monitoring our snow site for snow depth changes, drifting snow and other processes. (Guess that is kind of ice movement).

Indeed yes. Also, going out I want to make sure key pieces of kit are replicated across different luggage (eg chargers). Everything chucked together on the way back!

I will be there for ~ 10 days, if flights work out (you never know in Greenland), main targets are sea ice observations ( thickness, salinity) to find out why it broke up so insanely early this year), + a lot of work on snow obs, temperature, depth, density, crystal structure and reflectivity

We started doing snow monitoring about 4 years ago and I'm gradually building up a repeat programme, this year we're expanding it a bit so I have new logger and other instruments to monitor remotely when we're not there. Usually I go up once a year but colleagues also visit regularly
