Overall agree with the BnR reasoning (transparency is a cause for celebration), but I'm weary of more aggro-dominated metas leaving control decks in the lurch. I look forward to a healthy meta where control, midrange/value, and aggro all hold strong corners in the meta. - ThreadSky

I agree. It's been awhile since a good midrange deck has been established in the meta. My hope is that guardian truly makes a comeback with their pack this year.

If they can print 1 card 7 value ranger blocks, they can definitely step it up for the midrangers.

“Midrange” is the most nebulous term in FaB, because how someone could look at a format with nine legal generic 4-block dreacts (and a handful of class/talented ones) and say “nah midrange can’t win” is beyond me

My personal thought around it is the issue of midrange consistency. Florian is probably a good example of a deck that functions well today! So yes, mid-range is alive in a world without Auroras and Zens (premiere aggro).

Assassin in general had issues when they were ahead and drew a low/no-disruption hand. Similar to Vynsett today. I don't think midrange is bad or dead, just wasn't consistent and overshadowed by better numbers aggro decks

My issue is more watching Aurora catch no bans her entire lifespan and then immediately after she LLs they remove Florian's spec, when Aurora's was part of the thing that made her so busted. Obviously they already apologized for that but it stings a lil bit

Aurora may have already hit LL, but Florian is actually outperforming her in terms of both winrate AND total wins. Aurora was only like the 3rd or 4th highest winrate deck. She was just very popular. And, as the season went on, Florian has even overtaken her in total wins, popularity regardless.

It definitely FEELS weird, given that one LLed and the other did not, but Florian actually was a higher level of format threat on multiple metrics. It does suck that they just let Aurora go, though. At least they're doing something while green boy is only at 700?

Does that account for Aurora LLing in week 3? I know that Florian had more wins but he also had two more weeks of play time, and Aurora was outpacing him while she was legal

You’ll never catch me apologizing for LSS’ bans or lack thereof. Aside from the book burning, I find that their stewardship of CC has been lacking. Hopefully this new update is the impetus they need to pick up the slack, because it only works if they start banning problem cards quickly

Nuu isn't going anywhere with those bans, she's still on top of the meta. Control has been good for a long time since she's been great all her career in CC except PT London meta.
