The problem with Pratchett (who I adore) is that the best books are often built on dozens of other books.

Same for Scalzi and Old Man’s War, right? Although I really enjoyed The Kaiju Preservation Society which is a standalone story.

Yes both require a basic research where to start, especially with Pratchett there are sites, dedicated on the reading order
