I use ChatGPT and/or Copilot every day for coding questions, but I have found both of them making mistakes with simple issues recently. I wouldn’t trust today’s AIs to accurately report the weather, let alone plan and purchase things for me.

There is an element of randomness they add to certain interactions but the main thing is they don't have a solid "grasp" of reality

and they malfunction in unpredictable ways when their context window fills up

and this is with programming which is rather simple and constrained by rules!
