Donald Trump is relying on the same officials to fill multiple jobs—four in Marco Rubio’s case. Whether that’s because Trump can’t or won’t find others, the result is dangerous, @dgraham.bsky.social writes in The Atlantic Daily.

Anyone with half a brain would have understood that not only would your reputation be compromised you would likely become complicit in illegal acts. A quagmire that you could not escape from and would pull you deeper in until it became a matter of survival.
While Trump has little concept of anything other then himself the road others are on is the overthrow of the state, the remaking of a USA that is at odds with (would hope) what most Americans believe the USA is.
Trump strongly prefers to appoint people against whom he holds leverage, or, in rare cases, he appoints those who hold leverage against him. If that leverage becomes inert, Trump abandons all interest. It’s why Matt Gaetz is out of the fold. And it’s why Mike Waltz and Elon Musk are still in play.
We’ll never know whether he’s competent or not, as his boss takes credit for any success and Musk, the other President, has emptied all his departments and agencies of personnel.
I've stopped counting the things that are dangerous. This is just the same as term 1 when he used his family and others like himself that couldn't pass security checks 😡 if only congress or the supremes would do their damn jobs and end this fucking fever dream
He’s running government like a business. Lots of companies have downsized & people left do multiple roles. Now which “company “ is he trying to merge us with?
What's the difference? His cabinet members are only there for window dressing, while some group of apparatchiks buried in the Executive Office Building dismantle the nation for Trump's enrichment and fascist fantasies.
